Last night's dream involved my sister. No incest was involved, don't worry.

We were both a bit younger, 16-18 years of age roughly, and began the dream walking around outside near where our father works downtown. The streets were completely bereft of life, as was every building. It was overcast outside, not quite dark but certainly not a bright, cheerful day either. Basically, it was my kinda weather for the most part.

The building where our dad works was probably still a block or so away at the start of things, so we started on our course there. I got the distinct impression that his building was the only building with life inside it, and that both of us knew this and needed to speak with him.

All of this might seem creepy if it was in a movie or something, but that's definitely not the mood I got. I was quite content, happy even. My sister and I were just sorta bullshitting and laughing on our way to the building, talking about whatever. There was no malice in the air at all. Everything was peaceful and quiet (except for us), everything was still. I felt incredibly at ease.

Eventually we made our way to the building. After entering, we somehow knew that our father wasn't on the first floor at all, but rather much farther down in the complex. It was a complex as well, all of a sudden. There was also another person here, a weird amalgamation of someone I know in real life and typical dream bullshit. He was, more or less, a guy I know named Shane... except he was also partly Eminem, and a little bit of someone else even less pleasant.

He entered the building not long after we did, whilst my sister and I discussed how we were going to reach my father. He also wanted to speak with my father, but since he was such a dick my sister and I decided we didn't want to have much to do with him (real-life Shane is actually a pretty nice guy, so I'm not sure why I took this direction in my dream. ...meh). Sheminem and I stood there arguing for a minute while my sister decided to try the elevator again, which had up until this point worked for none of us. Lo and behold, it works for her all of a sudden.

She walks into the elevator, and its doors slam shut before either myself or bizzaro-Shane have a chance to catch them. Just as soon as they're closed, the elevator plummets a long way down the shaft, before eventually coming to a stop on some random floor. I get a feeling then, again, like my sister is communicating with me telepathically. Think Zelda from A Link to the Past. I get the distinct impression that she's not where our father is, but is on a floor that's a necessary stop along the way, and we need to get to her.

At this point, rather than stand around bickering forever, Shane and I decide to just work together to try to find our way down. The elevator's not an option, so we find a flight of stairs and descend the ol' fashioned way. There are multiple floors along the way down that we don't or can't enter, but we do find our way to a viable floor before too long. It's probably ten or twenty stories down from the lobby. At this point, I'm certain that we're still a ways off from finding my sister.

We exit the stairwell and find our way along this floor of the building for a while, and before long we're confronted by a glowing blue force field. There is a way to hack it, but first we need to piece together a number of clues to do so.

It's at this point that my dream becomes nothing but hours of running through random, completely fake text documents in my head. Bits and pieces of text are remembered and contemplated on by pseudo-Shane and I, but to no avail. I'd completely forgotten about my sister and father, and was basically just going insane until I finally woke up.

I guess the lesson here is: Don't try to learn C immediately prior to sleeping.
